As humans, we are all built for connection, but when we are struggling, it can often feel very isolating, lonely, anxiety-provoking, or shame-filled. In my work with individuals, I aim to normalize the humanness in the struggles and feelings we keep close to us and far from others, while also valuing each individual’s unique lived experiences and cultural identities. I provide a warm, caring space to get to know you and to explore your concerns with unconditional positive regard. I view individuals as experts in their lives and view our work together as a collaborative process.
I enjoy working with adults of any age, including with college students. I value the trust it takes to let someone know your pain (and joys!) and feel appreciative of the opportunity to walk alongside my clients in their self-exploration and growth.
Theoretical Approach:
I utilize a person-centered approach to therapy and motivational interviewing interventions to help clients process their experiences, gain insights, and explore ambivalence about making changes. I also work to help clients cultivate self-compassion in the way they respond to themselves when struggling.
