A new romantic relationship is an intoxicating adventure! We want that stage to last forever. But over time, the bliss and shiny perfection of the relationship wears off and we begin to see each other’s flaws. The demands of life and busy schedules take our time and attention, and we may begin to take each other for granted. Hurts and slights inevitably happen, and we might not repair well.  The wear and tear of life can erode the close connection, trust, and intimacy we once had with each other.  Like many things, intimate connection deteriorates with neglect.
